This was the first band that really, really got me into music. I had always liked music of most forms, but I was fairly middle of the road taste up until this point. I was listening to anything that was Pop, dancy kind of stuff. But something clicked inside with this. I heard Living on a Prayer the first time and was completely hooked. I never looked back with music then. It was a whole new life too. I met loads of fantastic friends through liking rock music. My music taste expanded from this to things like Metallica, Pantera, Saigon Kick, Love/Hate and so on. It just became a roll. I got into the clothes, the hair, the people, the life adn they were some of the best years of my life. But I always came back to Bon Jovi. They were my first love and I still listen to them occasionally (although I will admit I don't like anything after Keep the Faith much to be honest......)
But then I got really geeky and started buying special edition records,
limited runs, picture discs, buying the magazines etc etc. I even went
as so far as to spend an entire months allowance on a very rare and, in
Britain at least, banned cover for this very album. Here it is:
